Osteo Meetings

A place to propose ideas for future professional develop sessions
Josh Laurie
Hey Osteo brothers and sister,

I have blocked out a 45min slot on wed 4th dec for our next little osteo 'meeting of the minds'. if there're any dramas with this, let me know and we can adjust it.. in the meantime, let's keep throwing ideas around for topics of interest!

Yep, i like it. i think it's important that we keep diagnosis and testing as a key part of our meetings. I'm actually thinking of asking the physios to put together a few more Ortho testing based talks for our O/P meetings next year... Is that something everyone might find useful? Similarly, i think a session reviewing neuro testing among us Osteos would be useful in the new year..?

Yes that is great, ortho testing is always handy to revise. Neuro testing is an awesome idea also that would be great.
While where at it i might get a GP to talk to us at the integrated team meeting about red flag condition and dx of these?
ANy other thoughts I have 3 GP lined up to do some form of talk I just want to give them topics.

Love the idea of a bit more neuro! I feel I get a bit lazy with it, because I'm not sure what is the most pertinent to test for sometimes. I wouldn't mind reviewing red flags in kids too, particularly the hip & knee stuff. Perhaps some paeds too, particularly under 2yrs, perhaps more treatment approaches.

Great ideas - think we need to start making a list and through the year try and address some of these thoughts questions. Josh can we set up a place in the forum for suggested topics of interest?

Mark - loving what you talked about with standing and seated compensation patterns during the last osteo/physio tute. Has really helped me look at and help a few patients differently this week!!

Looks like our meeting schedule is sorted until mid 2015!!! simon, i've been keeping a document of all the suggestions which get thrown up on here as a reference for future meeting topics. Happy for everyone to keep throwing ideas up here as discussion points to gauge interest levels etc. perhaps in the new year, as we start to book in definite dates for meetings, i will circulate a list of proposed topics and in which meeting they will be covered so everyone knows whats going on when and whether we need to adjust or combine any topics?
