Hi girls,

James and I share a patient who recently had neck surgery to remove a spur at C5. She also has multiple disc herniation's in the region. Its been 8 weeks post surgery and she is improving but continues to complain of a severe burning sensation at the back of the neck and has significant restricted range of motion. There is significant muscle hypertonia and in my opinion some neural sensitisation. Just wondering what the natropathic perspective on such a client would be. I can provide a much more detailed history if you desire, but thought I would just start with the basics.

Thanks.

Hey Nic,

Sounds like an interesting case. I'd probably need more info on it. I think you're right with the neural sensitisation. There are some herbs that we can use for that but they're not always the most effective. I'd probably also get some hydrotherapy going to settle things down.

We'll talk more bout it perhaps tues?

Thanks,
Renee

Lisa is doing some hydro with Lauren at the moment, though i'm not sure how much they're focusing on her shoulder injuries and how much on the neck. Happy to chat tuesday
