Hi - I have a patient with reflux type symptoms at the moment, though the specialists don't think it is true reflux. The key factor at the moment is that her pain is relieved by drinking orange juice. Are either of you able to explain that and or provide any other treatment suggestions...

Hey Nic, the fact that it is relieved by orange juice is an indicator that she has low acid levels in her stomach and the sphincter isn't closing. Aloe vera juice, slippery elm to help soothe. Eat meals the same time each day. Don't snack. Eat at least 2 hours before bed. Lemon juice in warm water first thing in the morning to stimulate digestion. I hope that helps. More than happy to see her if she needs further advice.
