Arthritis, degeneration, wear and tear, are interchangeable terms, but may encompass different aspects of a person's condition. As an osteopath, we address joint wear and tear in the muculo-skeletal system through mostly physical intervention, but also with advice on how to manage the pain and inflammation associated with it eg icing.

In the musculo-skeletal system, certain areas of the body are predisposed to wear and tear before others, such as the lumbo-sacral disc and facet joints, C5, medial meniscus of the knees, saddle joints of the thumbs.

What are some common aspects of arthritis that show up in your clients presentations? How do you go about addressing those aspects? How may we work together in some of these instances? Would love to hear your thoughts...
Thanks,
Mark Baer.

Just to encourage a bit of input from the naturopaths, here is a pic of a recommended anti-inflammatory food pyramid... ;)
